About This Sermon

Sermon — "The Power of His Resurrection"

Based on 1 Samuel 17:42-45 (David & Goliath), Philippians 3:10, Romans 8:11, Ephesians 1:19-21, and 2 Timothy 1:7, the key themes were:

David vs Goliath as a prophetic picture — Goliath represents what looks impossible and overwhelming. David represents faith, trust, and obedience to God. Victory comes not through human strength but through the Holy Spirit.
Know your enemy — the devil attacks without authority, but God's children must take a stand. There is a difference between the enemy's attacks and God's refining hand.
The resurrection power is in you — Romans 8:11 declares that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in believers. We are not to live in our own strength but in resurrection power.
Stir up the gift within you — 2 Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Know your lane, your strengths, and offer them to God.
Prayer is critical — the enemy's greatest attack is to reduce prayer. The pastor issued an urgent call to the Wednesday evening prayer meeting (7:00–8:30pm), noting he has never seen so much sickness attacking the congregation as now.
Speak what you believe — what comes out of your mouth must be aligned with what you believe. Don't confess sickness; confess healing already paid for on the cross.
South African resilience — a passionate encouragement that South Africans carry a God-given tenacity and faith. Don't abandon your identity in Christ.
